About Me
I began my journey in the disability sector in 2005, working in group homes across Sydney. It was here that I first discovered the deep sense of purpose I felt when supporting and learning from people with disabilities. Those early experiences left a lasting impact on me—shaping not only my career but my values. They sparked a lifelong commitment to advocate fiercely, educate openly, and walk alongside people as they navigate systems that often overlook their strength and individuality.
Working in group homes gave me firsthand insight into the everyday challenges people face—particularly the complexities of mental health. I was especially drawn to supporting those experiencing psychological distress, often tied to broader factors such as health, family breakdown, trauma, and systemic barriers. As someone who has walked through my own mental health journey, I’ve found deep meaning in educating others about the connection between physical wellbeing and emotional resilience. I’m passionate about empowering people to trust their bodies, move with intention, and reconnect with themselves.
Over the years, I’ve worked across roles that amplify my natural ability to connect. I’m someone who listens deeply and holds space without judgment. I recognise that I may never fully understand the lived experience of every person I work with—but I will always validate and acknowledge their reality. My background in education, combined with evidence-based practice and lived experience, supports me to build capacity in others with care and clarity.
My time as a support worker taught me to see people beyond the paperwork. It allowed me to be part of their everyday lives—where the real stories, strengths, and struggles often emerge. These experiences have laid the foundation for the work I now do as a Support Coordinator and Psychosocial Recovery Coach.
Today, I approach my role with the same heart-led commitment. I intentionally keep my caseload small, because I believe in longer conversations, genuine relationships, and support that feels personal—not clinical. My goal is always to walk beside you, not in front of you.
